Some'tet

band bio:

From a Sunday night jam at the Snapdragon Café led by guitarist/composer Michael Whitmore, a full-blown band emerged. Some’tet came together in 2015, since then they’ve been gigging around Seattle, playing in venues such as the Sorrento, Tim’s Tavern & Vermillion.

Last year they played a summer long residency at the Musicquarium/Triple Door. In 2017 they were one of 4 bands chosen for the annual Earshot 2nd Century Jazz Series. The music is both composed & improvised. The overall sound tends to be mellow, almost west coast cool, but with moments of intense invention.

Add a cluster of South American rhythms, the occasional art song, a dollop of free jazz, a torch song, some soulful vocals and you get Some’tet. Four elements are important to their sound: adventure, beauty, spirituality & soul.
