ISLAND PAPER CHASE
This retail store features the origami art of island Alice Larson. Alice's creations range from tiny flowers to an origami peace flag, similar to the United States’ flag, but with cranes dotting its blue field instead of stars. Larson made it by folding 3,750 pieces of paper, joining them together and sewing it all onto a cloth backing. Other artwork includes the Seahawks’ logo, constructed with 1,000 meticulously folded paper cranes, a lamp with an origami shade and 4-foot-tall flowers. Cranes have a long tradition in origami and were important symbols in several cultures. Raven's Nest is a Northwest Coast Native Art Gallery and Gift Shop filled with the most beautifully crafted artwork that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. VASHON THRIFTWAY
Vashon Thriftway is a small, locally owned grocery store located on Vashon Island. They offer a deli, bakery, meat cutters, seafood handlers, and a wide selection of products ranging everything from cookies to wine. In accordance with Washington state law, all customers are required to wear a mask while shopping at Vashon Thriftway. Masks will be available for those who do not have masks.
