Charlie Kipp
bio:
Charlie Kipp started playing clarinet in the 6th grade, all through high school and college where he was 1st chair clarinet for 3 years. After college, he played in a professional concert band called The Riverpark Concert Band for a couple years until he went back to Vashon in 1979.
Charlie also played with the Great Divide in the 80's and sat in with other bands while honing his skills.
Charlie joined the Portage Fill-Harmonic Big Band where he has been playing for 40 years now, playing lead tenor sax and clarinet. Charlie has played music with Bob Haworth and Fred Schactler over the years in the 80s which was a real blast! Charlie continues to play with the Fill and with Loose Change, joining them in 2002 and The Confessions recently.
Charlie have done some recording sessions with Francois Arambel in the 90s and Luke McQuillin and most recently with Rick Doussett of the band Rooster.
