Roger Taylor grew up on folk music, Motown, and rock and roll - in that order. After realizing that being a drummer meant too much schlepping, he started playing acoustic guitar and discovered that this provided a much better accompaniment for singing, even if it meant starting over on a new instrument. He's still learning…
He loves and plays many different kinds of music, but gravitates toward songs that tell a story or are just plain beautiful to hear. A sucker for both slow ballads and rocking grooves, Roger can’t quite decide whether to be a lounge lizard or a rock and roller. Fortunately for both camps, he found a middle ground in the genre of folk-rock-singer-songwriter-Americana.
He plays with the Vashon band Rumor Has It, and with the Bellingham acoustic trio Rosewood Caravan. Come on down, relax with your friends, and enjoy Roger playing solo at Vashon Brewing Community Pub.
