Birds Take Flight
Vashon Center for the Arts
January 3 - February 2
First Friday Artist Reception: January 3, 5-8pm

Birds have captivated human imagination for centuries, symbolizing freedom, transformation, and the enduring connection to nature. Birds Take Flight is an upcoming art exhibition that celebrates the beauty, grace, and symbolism of birds through the creative lens of artists across diverse mediums.

From the delicate flutter of a sparrow to the mythical majesty of the phoenix, birds embody the spirit of possibility and wonder. This show invites visitors to explore unique interpretations of these universal creatures, bridging the natural world with artistic expression. Featuring a dynamic collection of photography, mixed media, glass art, sculpture, fiber arts, and drawings, the exhibition showcases the diverse ways birds inspire creativity.

Opening January 3 and running through February 2, the exhibit promises to enchant art lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. Join us for the First Friday Artist Reception on January 3, from 5–8pm to celebrate these avian-inspired works and meet the artists behind them.

Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 12–5pm (closed Monday & Tuesday), and during VCA’s events in the Kay White Performance Hall.
