Eight Vashon Artists Celebrate the Season

Explore an inspiring variety of gift ideas during “The Art of Giving” at the Outstanding In Its Field Gallery, December 7-24, 2024. The gallery offers works from eight artists in a wide range of price points. Media includes jewelry, pastels, baskets, monoprints, etched glass, leatherwork, sculpture, and ceramics. The Gallery is located at 10524 S.W. 188th St, just west of Sawbones, and will be open Saturdays - Sundays, from 10 am – 4 pm, December 7th - 15th, and then Noon to 4 pm, December 21st, 22nd, and 24th, or weekdays by appointment by calling 206.419.0199. The Gallery is Stop #25 on the Vashon Island Holiday Studio Tour.

The Art of Giving presents light-filled pastels from Janeen Bramwell, stylishly sleek silver jewelry fashioned by Barbara Gannis, basket-weaving by Barbara Dusty Gustafson, nature-inspired linocut and monotype prints by Lynn McClain, porcelain and raku ceramics from Kedar Mankad, rich leather work by John Dally, and bas relief bronze sculpture and etched glass by White Hart Art.

During the show, the gallery will offer fresh Bake Sale Bites of coconut macaroons, pecan pie squares, and holiday cookies, benefitting Vashon Island Pet Protectors and hot spiced cider.

Outstanding In Its Field Gallery is open May – October each year with monthly themed exhibits featuring Vashon Island Artists almost exclusively. The gallery will also be open for the VIVA Art Studio Tours in May and December.
