Island Theater Companies Seek Talent
Members of four Island Theater companies will host an Open Call for all kinds of theatrical talent in November. Anyone on who has ever been or still is interested in participating in theater on the Islands will have a chance to get on the most wanted list for UMO, Drama Dock, Vashon Repertory Theatre, and VHS Theater productions by attending the Open Call.
There are plenty of opportunities for actors, designers, stage managers, costumers, lighting and sound technicians to meet principals from the four participating companies. At the Vashon High School Theater, from 11am to 4pm -- Saturday, November 9, Sunday, November 10 or Saturday, November 16, in 15-minute slots. Interested individuals simply reserve a time to declare their talent. Head shots and resumes are welcome, but not required. The group also welcomes performed monologues, song snippets or stories. Experience requirements range from zero to veteran and everything in between. The goal is to create a talent pool that will support quality theatrical productions on the Islands.
Vashon’s reputation as an arts destination is growing every year, and live theater’s role in advancing that reputation is expanding to accommodate. It’s vital that all producing companies have access to all the local talent that is available.
